Enables your device operating system to connect to the secure Xfinity WiFi network ( XFINITY) by installing the Xfinity WiFi secure profile.MyWi is available through the Cydia store and costs US$24.99, or $4.99 for owners of MyWi 4.0.The Xfinity WiFi Hotspots app for Android and iOS, or the profile for Mac, provides the following key benefits: I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but the video makes me want to. Because of its battery demands, the Wi-Fi mode will now automatically shut off after an idle period.Īs you can see from the video, the updated software is also a lot prettier than it used to be. Of course, you can still use MyWi in classic mode, without having to jailbreak a second unit, but that limits you to Wi-Fi only use. To take advantage of this new feature, you'll need to have the software installed on both the host device as well as the client one, which means jailbreaking both. And, like Wi-Fi, that service has almost a zero battery footprint, so being ready to connect at all times takes up very little power consumption. When it finds a MyWi Bluetooth hotspot, it can automatically connect to that service. Intelliborn's always-on Bluetooth implementation performs a similar kind of search. Wi-Fi is always scanning for a base station to connect to and can then automatically connect to it if you've chosen that as a known and trusted host. The new MyWi introduces Bluetooth on-demand tethering. Now, I'm not saying that MyWi is now suddenly a kinder, gentler, non-battery consumer when actively serving connections to other devices, but it has a killer new approach to providing that connectivity with a low-power always-on mode. The app could kill batteries even while plugged into a power source. The biggest complaint about the original MyWi was that it was a battery killer. It provides the same kind of easy-to-use connectivity, but it does so with a completely redesigned interface, providing functionality that's basically on steroids. Now, MyWi OnDemand has been introduced by developers Intelliborn. Multiple laptops or other mobile devices could connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot at once. With the app and a jailbroken iPhone or iPad, you could share your 3G or EDGE connection with other devices with just a few simple taps. For the last few years, MyWi has basically owned the iPhone-as-hotspot jailbreak market.

However, as opposed to the LCD display, the colours shown on the EVF are not accurate and they appear brighter than they are. This increased ISO setting will make it easier to capture images in low light conditions. Rubberized handgrip helps while viewing through the EVFįujifilm have focussed on the the main feature of this camera - a 26x optical zoom - but other interesting features are the 24 mm wide angle and an ISO sensitivity up to 6400. The Fujifilm FinePix S3300 uses four AA batteries. The battery bay is of the push pull mechanism where there is a grip for opening it. The camera has ports for a mini-HDMI and a proprietary USB port which is concealed by a plastic flap. There is also an auto focus which aids in clicking images. The flash on the top is concealed under a hood and can be easily deployed by pressing a button located next to it. There is a slider button for turning the camera on or off and all these buttons are well spaced out and have a smooth texture. The shutter release button is located along with the zoom trigger. There is a button for clicking pictures in a continuous mode as well as a face detection button. Next to the mode dial button is an F button which directs to the F-mode menu. On the top of the camera is a mode selection dial for different camera functions which are aperture level, shutter speed, manual mode, a custom mode, panorama scene mode, scene recognition and an auto mode. The EVF has a rubberized padding to help in the cushioning while viewing through it. At the back of the camera is also an EVF button for shifting between the LCD display and the electronic viewfinder for viewing images. All the buttons on the camera are made of plastic and they do not seem sturdy enough. The S3300 has a 3-inch LCD screen, alongside it on the right are the regular camera buttons which are in black and the four way navigational pad which has a silver finish. The lens of this camera has a rubber finish which aids in gripping the lens while looking through the EVF. Fujifilm has done well with the design of this handgrip to make it blend well with the rest of the body. The handgrip is rubberized and it does not look like a separate piece. The camera has a rugged feel to it with its all black design and crackle hard plastic finish on the body. At first sight, this camera may be mistaken for a DSLR. The Fujifilm FinePix S3300 is a super zoom camera that features a large 26x lens on the front neatly tucked in.
